This Is Not A Screening! is a once-a-month open projection night where filmmakers, video artists, and anyone in between share works-in-progress and receive feedback. We foster community-led solidarity in London’s filmmaking scene. We don’t curate submissions. Participation is open to everyone, first-come, first-served.
How we started?
As filmmakers, we spend countless hours in the edit, often unsure whether things are actually working. After staring at the timeline for too long, you lose objectivity: pacing feels slippery, scenes blur, and instinct gets fuzzy. You email friends for a watch and some notes, but sometimes you want eyes beyond your immediate circle. Building that wider community isn’t easy. Especially in a city as big as London.
Our open projection night grew out of that need. We wanted a welcoming room where filmmakers can share rough cuts, test ideas, and get honest, constructive feedback. A place to meet new collaborators, swap skills, and spark momentum. It’s about creating a community.
