A community-led film event I built, with teasers upcycled entirely from existing materials, discarded and archival footage reworked into something new: giving overlooked images a second life rather than producing more footage.

 

From The Lips To The Moon – Southbank Event

A single day of filming at London’s Southbank, shot on two cameras and cut into a short, self-contained piece. A compact production built around catching the texture of one place over a few hours.

This was a three-day shooting project where I worked closely with an art collective to develop a script and bring it to life visually, showcasing their unique artistic style while creatively promoting their work.

 

Cultural Management Academy

I was recommended to the Goethe-Institut Bucharest by the project designer, with whom I had previously collaborated on various cultural and arts projects. I was invited to Istanbul to document a three-day workshop, conduct interviews, capture highlight moments, and edit a short video.

 

War Resisters International, London Conference

I documented a three-day conference for War Resisters International, filming workshops and conducting interviews. I then edited a 20-minute project documentary, capturing the essence and key moments of the event and a 3-minute highlight video.

 

First Contact With The Profane

I was invited as one of the artists at Sinopale 8, where I made a video art work upcycled from unused footage of my essay documentary Anima. Material that never made the final cut found a second life as a standalone piece within the biennial.

Goethe-Institut Istanbul | Tarabya Ensemble

I directed and edited a documentary of the Tarabya Ensemble, commissioned by Kulturakademie Tarabya and the Goethe-Institut. I filmed over two days. The first day covered rehearsals and interviews, and the second covered the live performance. I led a crew of three camera operators and a sound recordist, and edited the final film myself. The film captures both the rehearsal process and the performance.

 

Upcycling | Sinopale 8 Opening Video

I made the opening video for Sinopale 8 entirely from the video archives of previous editions. Upcycling was the biennial’s theme that year, so the opening itself became an upcycled work built from the festival’s own past.

 

Spaces Of Culture

I was commissioned by Goethe-Institut Istanbul to make short videos. I filmed in three cities and edited three short videos and one longer one. I was also commissioned to edit twenty-five short videos filmed by their collaborators in the cities during lockdown. This is one of the videos I filmed and edited.
